What a great weekend it was on the 3rd and 4th of July at the Brighton Paddle. Once more Dave "Sandals" Samuel organised and put on a mega event which was expected to attract some 40,000 visitors. As ever Dave is an absolute star and at Still Stoked we thank him for a hugely successful and awesome weekend.
Donny sold out on longboard skates, hardware and decks excepting one 5ft cruiser. Its back to the 'workshop' to get some new travel boards and retro carves ready for our summer sojourn at Hells Mouth, North Wales, in a few weeks time. Oh ye, the guy or guys who walked off with two travel boards may you enjoy the ride and your karma prevent your wheel locking out on the first piece of pee gravel you encounter.
It was great meeting up with old friends and making new ones. Elliot Dudley was up to his usual winning form even after his channel paddle, Guts was on fine form with his new shop and it was a great surprise to see Adam England after too many years apart. Donny even got a surf in Friday at dusk as the tide dropped out and there was a tiny wave on Saturday morning tempting the surf starved Brightonians. Sunday evening 'Stig' Evans and Sam took Donny down to the hot pipe for what turned out to be a nice little session.
